Naturalment, no n’hi ha prou amb tenir catorze anys i ser bonica per ser una lolita. S’ha de tenir una altra cosa, una mena de perversitat innocent, una sensualitat sense complicacions morals, una certa alegria trista, la fatalitat, com apunta Nabokov, de sentir-se desitjada i cedir, gairebé per caprici, o per domini, però amb escasses recompenses físiques. És probable que la nena que és una lolita mantingui una part del seu caràcter tota la vida, especialment pel que fa al torbador atractiu físic. Adolescent sexualment precoç, seductora. El Diccionari del català popular i d’argot de Joaquim Pomares (1997) hi incorpora un altre matís: ‘Joveneta a qui agraden els homes madurs’.
Etimologia
Del personatge de la novel·la Lolita, de Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977), publicada el 1955.
Usos
—Ei, noies, ¿el coneixeu, aquest home del casc negre que acaba d’entrar? —va preguntar amb uns dels seus somriures més seductors.
—¿Vol dir el Messegué? —va fer una d’elles sense semblar gaire impressionada. En aquell col·legi, les alumnes anaven amb uniforme, tot i que amb les seves maneres no podien ocultar el món a què pertanyien.
—És el profe de llatí —va dir una altra, que de les quatre era la que semblava més Lolita—. És un tio raro.

Si un hi pensa una mica, s’adona que, de lolites, n’hi ha més de les que sembla, i probablement tots ens en hem trobada alguna.
Naturalment, no n’hi ha prou amb tenir catorze anys i ser bonica per ser una lolita. S’ha de tenir una altra cosa, una mena de perversitat innocent, una sensualitat sense complicacions morals, una certa alegria trista, la fatalitat, com apunta Nabokov, de sentir-se desitjada i cedir, gairebé per caprici, o per domini, però amb escasses recompenses físiques. És probable que la nena que és una lolita mantingui una part del seu caràcter tota la vida, especialment pel que fa al torbador atractiu físic. De manera que, qui tingui la sort d’enamorar-se d’una lolita tardana, posem de divuit o vint anys, i sigui capaç d’enamorar-la a ella, té la diversió bastant assegurada per sempre.
